Women TIES is returning to the wonderful Rochester area for a morning coffee and networking event. Thank you to Laurie DiProspero for co-hosting it at her fabulous business. Come along for some coffee and danishes, and bring your business cards!

This is informal, and Tracy Chamberlain Higginbotham can't wait for it, since she misses the amazing women in the area. She hopes to see you, if only for a short visit over coffee.

Feel free to share the event and invite other women to join you and us! As usual, Tracy believes in the power of women.

Tracy will also share a bit about writing, producing, and directing her first microbudget film entitled "Me Too, Sugar Daddy."

The small registration fee will help with expenses and name badges. Thank you.

Founder of Women TIES, LLC, its Women's Athletic Network, and Equality Division, Tracy Chamberlain Higginbotham is also a new filmmaker and author.

Learn more about the Small Business Administration's Women-Owned Small Business Federal Contract Program to help provide a level playing field for women business owners. The government limits competition for certain contracts to businesses that participate in the Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) Federal Contract Program.

These contracts are for goods and services in specific industries (identified via NAICS code) where WOSBs are underrepresented. Some contracts are restricted further to economically disadvantaged women-owned small businesses (EDWOSBs). SBA maintains a list of those eligible industries and their NAICS codes.

Joining the WOSB Federal Contract program makes a business eligible to compete for federal contracts reserved for the program's certified participants. These contracts are known as "set-asides." Provided they are eligible, WOSB-certified firms can still compete for contract awards under other socio-economic programs, including 8(a) and HUBZone.

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is dedicated to helping small business owners and entrepreneurs pursue the American Dream.

Created in 1953 by President Dwight D. Eisenhower, the SBA was founded in the aftermath of World War II in recognition that American strength depends not only on our warfighters at the front lines, but also on our factories, farms, and local workers at home. The agency initially focused on helping returning veterans put their skills to work as small business owners across America's industrial base and later expanded to support all U.S. entrepreneurs.

Today, America's 36 million small businesses create two out of every three new jobs, contribute nearly half of U.S. GDP, and represent 99 percent of all private businesses in the country.
