Women TIES Media Sponsored Event: "10th Annual Ruck Cancer"
Women TIES and the Women's Athletic Network are pleased to media sponsor this event for the Uticuse Hellbenders Rugby team. Event: This year, the 10th Annual Ruck Cancer Benefit Tournament will be held on Saturday, June 3rd, 2023 at O'Connor Park, 301 Velasko Rd, Syracuse, NY 13219. "Ruck Cancer" is an annual rugby 10's tournament hosted by the Uticuse Rugby Club. The purpose of this event is to raise funds for local charities and organizations dedicated to helping persons affected by cancer. Over the years, we have raised over $26,156.00 with the help of local sponsors and tournament participants. Last year was one of our biggest yet, and we were able to donate $4,656.00 to Griffin's Guardians. We hope to top that this year, our beneficiary is close to our heart and a member of our local rugby community. All proceeds will be donated to the local beneficiary Pat Cassidy. In late December 2022, Pat Cassidy, only 35 years old, was diagnosed with non-limited small-cell lung cancer. Pat and his wife Ariane are parents to Ronin, 3, and Lorcan, who was born days before Pat's diagnosis. Pat is a Westhill Central School District Board member in Syracuse, NY, and a Captain of the United States Army National Guard. He played with the Syracuse Chargers RFC for years and is friends with many former and current members of the Chargers and members of the Uticuse Rugby Club. For this year's Ruck Cancer Tournament all proceeds will be donated directly to the Cassidy family. Rocky's Roadhouse Food Trailer will be available throughout the day to purchase lunch. For schedule times and more information to attend this free event visit https://www.facebook.com/events/4831380453653539/ About the Presenter Since August 2008 we have grown from a rag-tag group of diverse individuals, former rugby players and the newly interested alike, to a State-Ranked Competitive Rugby Club. In the years since the club's inception, they have bridged the cities of Utica and Syracuse, where our members weekly devote countless hours to practices, games, and community service events, including our annual Ruck Cancer Benefit Rugby Tournament. Our goal is to make the Uticuse Hellbenders an integral part of Central New York's culture by providing the area with America's #1 Amateur sport. In 2021, Uticuse joined the CNY Rugby organization in order to provide Central NY with women's, men's, and youth rugby under one umbrella.
Women's Athletic Network: Try A New Sport - SUP (Paddleboard) Yoga
Yoga has been around for awhile and offers peace, relaxation, fitness, and mental health benefits to the women who practice it. As Tracy Chamberlain Higginbotham invites more women to try different sports with her while networking with the other women who attend, suggestions included horse yoga, goat yoga, and SUP Yoga. With the warmer weather approaching, Women TIES and its Women's Athletic Network have chosen a SUP Yoga Class. Take your love of the outdoors into a new realm of discover, challenge and playfulness as we float and pose! This multi-level class offers options for beginners to experienced yogis in a supportive and fun environment. The class will be taught by Rochester woman entrepreneur Lynn Boucher of Yoga Revolution and be held at Bay Creek Paddling Center in Irondequoit Bay. The class runs from 4:30 p.m. – 5:45 p.m. After the class is over, we'll make a decision about going to K2Brewery for a drink or someplace for dinner. Bring your business cards, athletic spirit, and love for the water and trying a new sport with you. We have paid for 6 spots which will be given out on a first-come, first-serve basis. SO MAKE YOUR RSVPS today! We might be able to add 2 more spots if we have the interest. Note: In light of inclement weather being moderate to heavy rain, lightening, thunder or very wavy conditions, we will pick another date in the future. We won't know that until two hours prior to the event. SPONSOR: If you would like to sponsor this event, we offer a lot of pre-event marketing, day of event connections, and post-event marketing. Contact our office for information. About the Presenter During Lynne's 18 years serving as Director of the Center for Spirituality at Nazareth College, she had the great joy of helping people foster healthy and positive connections in their bodies, minds and spirits. She started incorporating yoga into her work in 2012 after I received her 200 RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) training from Aimee Senise Connors. Along with a collaborative team of yoga teachers and student leaders at Nazareth, I developed a comprehensive, national award-winning yoga program that includes extensive yoga opportunities for hundreds of students, faculty and staff on campus. Yoga Revolution marks my transition to full-time yoga coaching and teaching where Lynne shares her love of yoga with the wider community – with athletic teams, community service agencies, and businesses that want to offer yoga and mindfulness services to their culture.

Women TIES Mohawk Valley Event: "Getting Out of Your Comfort Zone in Business, Writing and Sports" Sponsored by Michelle Shauger of Primerica Advisors
Halfway through the year is the perfect chance to stop and take inventory of what challenges you have taken so far. Many of us make promises to change how we conduct certain entrepreneurial habits, to start a book that has been written in our mind forever, or take big challenges like trying new sports or activities to get fitter and energized. Rome native and 30-year woman entrepreneur, Tracy Chamberlain Higginbotham, President of Women TIES, LLC and the Women's Athletic Network will share her insight on all three of these topics and create a conversation around being 'undaunted'. Tracy's latest story will appear in another Chicken Soup for the Soul book, this one entitled "Getting Out of Your Comfort Zone," being released in July. Her story sheds light on a new life goal of trying every sport once and having women join her along the way. Chamberlain Higginbotham's parents were physical education teachers and coaches in Rome, New York, and inspired her athletic and entrepreneurial spirits. This meeting is open for women of all backgrounds especially women entrepreneurs, women in business, females in sports, or women looking to be inspired to get out of their comfort zones in other areas of their lives. Michelle Shauger of Primerica Advisors is the sponsor of the program. The event includes coffee, tea, water, and some snacks during the program along with a sales contact list for networking and business connections after the event is over. About the Presenter Tracy Chamberlain Higginbotham is a native of Rome, New York who currently lives in Syracuse, NY, and travels across New York State producing opportunities for women entrepreneurs to learn, network, promote, market, and unite with other female business owners. Calling Women: Tracy Chamberlain Higginbotham Presents - Trying Every Sport Once in Your Lifetime Invitation
Tracy Chamberlain Higginbotham, Founder and President of Women TIES, LLC and the Women's Athletic Network, who lost all her hair to alopecia in 2018, has come out of the experience realizing she is most comfortable without wearing a wig and participating in sports, fitness or outdoor activities daily. Her new lifetime goal is to try every sport - regular and hopefully adventure - once in her lifetime. She will be documenting her attempts via social media especially on her TikTok account @tracychigginbotham. As the year progresses, Tracy will post the sports she is attempting and invite any woman to join her at it. Most will be a one day experience most likely without training. There will be promotion of the women who join her and their companies so her love for marketing women entrepreneurs continues in a different way. Out of the 124 "regular" sports, Tracy has done 55 of them with 69 more to try including ones like motorcross, curling, archery, parasailing, surfing, and more. When it comes to "adventure" sports, there are 39 with Tracy only doing 4 so she has 35 more to go. Some of the "fun" ones include mountain biking, unicycle, kite surfing, bullriding, and more. She is keeping ski diving to last just in case! Any ones who has participated in a adventure sport who wants to take Tracy back out with them, should reach out to her! Let's make 2022 and onward, an undaunted way of living life through sports especially since we are women and women entrepreneurs who are undaunted by adventure. Make a "reservation" (without payment) including your name, business names, phone, email, etc. and in the comment section a sport you want to try or take Tracy out to do and she'll get you booked in her schedule. SHE CAN'T WAIT to experience this with other women and document it to inspire other women to keep living an undaunted life of thrills, sports, and the outdoors. About the Presenter Born and raised by parents who were coaches and physical education teachers, Tracy started her young life at the age of 5 downhill skiing, swimming, ballet, and fishing. She moved on to swimming on with boys on the Jr. Swim Team because there wasn't a budget for girls swimming that year. Her and her 3 teammates had a few records. In 1996, Tracy took up running to lose weight after her second son was born. She ran 2 miles every day for 15 years; and after meeting Kathrine Switzer, Founder of 261Fearless.org, trained for the 2017 Boston Marathon which she completed with great joy. Ever since the experience, it has made Tracy want to do more athletic feats and goals. In 2013, Tracy created the Women's Athletic Network, to bring women entrepreneurs together to participate in sporting events, fitness, and cheering on female athletes for networking, exercise, and fun. The WAN has created opportunities for women to white water raft, zip line, kayak, try a high ropes course, and run in a few 5Ks. She also promotes and supports girls in sports. Tracy believes strongly in supporting women in business, sports, equality and life.
Women TIES & Women's Athletic Network: "Flying High Parasailing"
Parasailing is one of the adventure sports Tracy Chamberlain Higginbotham has yet to try so she is inviting other women to join her on this adventure. The event will take place on Saturday, July 15th on Lake George, NY. In order to book the event, we need to see who is interested in it so we can call and start the booking. If you have any interest in joining us, please register and pay so we can book our reservations now. The time will be between 11 a.m./noon. We will confirm that as soon as we see how many women are attending. The company can accommodate two or three people per parasail trip in the air so we will double people up as needed. We will plan on going to lunch somewhere in Lake George after the experience. Everyone will pay on their own at the restaurant. If you have a significant other coming to the event but not parasailing, please put their name in the guest spot so we can book the lunch reservations.
