Women TIES Rochester Event "Building A Stronger Community Outside Your Four Business Walls"

Laurie DiProspero and Tracy Higginbotham Featuring:
Laurie DiProspero
Founder
Union Place Coffee Roasters

Reservations due:  May 8

$27.00  (Member Rate)
$30.00  (Non-Members)

As women entrepreneurs we might not list philanthropy as a top goal for our company as we begin. Typically, we start growing and invest extra revenue back into our business, not giving it away. But at some point as our company ages, we see opportunities to help within our unique industry or community giving back. Is it a wise thing to do?

On May 9th at the Women TIES Rochester Event, Union Place Coffee Roasters Owner Laurie DiProspero will share insights from her recent trip to Nicaragua with Rochester's Four Walls Project to help build a house where profits from her local coffee business funded a new house for people in the community where some of her coffee beans originate from.

Laurie will share why she got involved in the Four Walls Project, what she has learned as an entrepreneur getting involved, what the trip to Nicaragua taught her, and why other women business owners should contemplate giving back within their own industries. Come be inspired and walk away changed and motivated to be more philanthropic.

The event provides delicious coffee drinks, snacks, a sales contact list of attendees, and inspiration.

NOTE: We are looking for a sponsor for this event. Please give our office a call to get your name on all event marketing and to speak at the event.

About the Presenter

Union Place Coffee Roasters, a boutique coffee roasting house in Rochester, NY, obsesses over everything coffee. Sourcing green coffee beans from socially responsible importers, roasting the perfect batch, and crafting harmonious blends is a big part of what we do. Simply put, the aroma, color and flavor of perfectly roasted coffee gets us excited.

As artisan roasters, we produce great tasting coffee by roasting only 100% Arabica beans in small batches. Our hands-on roasting process ensures the development of the delicate flavor profiles of each coffee varietal. Most importantly, we pay close attention to details. We know that you will savor every cup of coffee right down to the last sip.

Women's Athletic Network: Try A New Sport - SUP (Paddleboard) Yoga

Yoga Revolution Featuring:
Lynne Boucher
Founder
Yoga Revolution

Tuesday, June 6, 2023
4:30 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Location:
BayCreek Paddling Center, Inc. 1099 Empire Blvd. Rochester, NY 14609

Reservations due:  June 2

$39.00

Yoga has been around for awhile and offers peace, relaxation, fitness, and mental health benefits to the women who practice it. As Tracy Chamberlain Higginbotham invites more women to try different sports with her while networking with the other women who attend, suggestions included horse yoga, goat yoga, and SUP Yoga. With the warmer weather approaching, Women TIES and its Women's Athletic Network have chosen a SUP Yoga Class.

Take your love of the outdoors into a new realm of discover, challenge and playfulness as we float and pose! This multi-level class offers options for beginners to experienced yogis in a supportive and fun environment.

The class will be taught by Rochester woman entrepreneur Lynn Boucher of Yoga Revolution and be held at Bay Creek Paddling Center in Irondequoit Bay. The class runs from 4:30 p.m. – 5:45 p.m. After the class is over, we'll make a decision about going to K2Brewery for a drink or someplace for dinner. Bring your business cards, athletic spirit, and love for the water and trying a new sport with you.

We have paid for 6 spots which will be given out on a first-come, first-serve basis. SO MAKE YOUR RSVPS today! We might be able to add 2 more spots if we have the interest.

Note: In light of inclement weather being moderate to heavy rain, lightening, thunder or very wavy conditions, we will pick another date in the future. We won't know that until two hours prior to the event.

SPONSOR: If you would like to sponsor this event, we offer a lot of pre-event marketing, day of event connections, and post-event marketing. Contact our office for information.

About the Presenter

During Lynne's 18 years serving as Director of the Center for Spirituality at Nazareth College, she had the great joy of helping people foster healthy and positive connections in their bodies, minds and spirits. She started incorporating yoga into her work in 2012 after I received her 200 RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) training from Aimee Senise Connors.

Along with a collaborative team of yoga teachers and student leaders at Nazareth, I developed a comprehensive, national award-winning yoga program that includes extensive yoga opportunities for hundreds of students, faculty and staff on campus.

Yoga Revolution marks my transition to full-time yoga coaching and teaching where Lynne shares her love of yoga with the wider community – with athletic teams, community service agencies, and businesses that want to offer yoga and mindfulness services to their culture.

Calling Women: Tracy Chamberlain Higginbotham Presents - Trying Every Sport Once in Your Lifetime Invitation

Tracy Chamberlain Higginbotham Featuring:
Tracy Chamberlain Higginbotham
Founder & President
Women TIES, LLC & Women's Athletic Network

Monday, July 3, 2023
9 a.m.
Location:
To Be Announced

Cost: Free

Tracy Chamberlain Higginbotham, Founder and President of Women TIES, LLC and the Women's Athletic Network, who lost all her hair to alopecia in 2018, has come out of the experience realizing she is most comfortable without wearing a wig and participating in sports, fitness or outdoor activities daily. Her new lifetime goal is to try every sport - regular and hopefully adventure - once in her lifetime. She will be documenting her attempts via social media especially on her TikTok account @tracychigginbotham.

As the year progresses, Tracy will post the sports she is attempting and invite any woman to join her at it. Most will be a one day experience most likely without training. There will be promotion of the women who join her and their companies so her love for marketing women entrepreneurs continues in a different way.

Out of the 124 "regular" sports, Tracy has done 55 of them with 69 more to try including ones like motorcross, curling, archery, parasailing, surfing, and more.

When it comes to "adventure" sports, there are 39 with Tracy only doing 4 so she has 35 more to go. Some of the "fun" ones include mountain biking, unicycle, kite surfing, bullriding, and more. She is keeping ski diving to last just in case! Any ones who has participated in a adventure sport who wants to take Tracy back out with them, should reach out to her!

Let's make 2022 and onward, an undaunted way of living life through sports especially since we are women and women entrepreneurs who are undaunted by adventure.

Make a "reservation" (without payment) including your name, business names, phone, email, etc. and in the comment section a sport you want to try or take Tracy out to do and she'll get you booked in her schedule.

SHE CAN'T WAIT to experience this with other women and document it to inspire other women to keep living an undaunted life of thrills, sports, and the outdoors.

About the Presenter

Born and raised by parents who were coaches and physical education teachers, Tracy started her young life at the age of 5 downhill skiing, swimming, ballet, and fishing. She moved on to swimming on with boys on the Jr. Swim Team because there wasn't a budget for girls swimming that year. Her and her 3 teammates had a few records.

In 1996, Tracy took up running to lose weight after her second son was born. She ran 2 miles every day for 15 years; and after meeting Kathrine Switzer, Founder of 261Fearless.org, trained for the 2017 Boston Marathon which she completed with great joy. Ever since the experience, it has made Tracy want to do more athletic feats and goals.

In 2013, Tracy created the Women's Athletic Network, to bring women entrepreneurs together to participate in sporting events, fitness, and cheering on female athletes for networking, exercise, and fun. The WAN has created opportunities for women to white water raft, zip line, kayak, try a high ropes course, and run in a few 5Ks. She also promotes and supports girls in sports.

Tracy believes strongly in supporting women in business, sports, equality and life.

Women TIES is proud to media sponsor our member's
events. We invite you to consider attending this special retreat put on by Barb Klein of Inspired Possibilities.

EVENT:
We can easily lose ourselves in a world of obligations, expectations, and roles. Who are we?
What matters most to us? What are we here to do, to create? Who do we want to be? And what gifts do we bring to the world?

We push to care for others, to fulfil expectations, perhaps giving beyond our reserves, and we find ourselves feeling worn out, drained, and depleted. We know we need to find a way to nourish and care for ourselves.

Retreat offers a time to replenish so that we are better able to show up to the people and responsibilities in our lives. It gives us time to honor ourselves deeply and powerfully within a circle of like-minded women.

In this wonderfully relaxing and fulfilling retreat, we will:

- Slow down, quiet down, and tune in to connect
with our inner wisdom and guidance
- Have space for reflection, rest, and renewal
- Cultivate a foundation of self-care, self-compassion, and self-honoring
- Strengthen the ground we stand on as we discover the peace, power, and joy that is available in an authentically lived life
- Make space for sacred silence

To learn more or register please visit:
https://www.inspiredpossibility.com/come-home-to-yourself-retreat.html or call 585-705-8740

About the Presenter

Barb Klein is the epitome of a "Coach." She knows what she is doing, knows when to push, knows when to hold back, knows just the right words to say, knows how to listen, does not lecture, and most importantly knows when to praise.
