February 1st is National Women and Girls Day in Sports as designated by the Women's Sports Foundation started by Billie Jean King. We are going to do something that day - ski, snowshoe or walk depending on the weather.
The WAN cross country ski event with Tracy Chamberlain Higginbotham for Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at Beaver Lake Nature Center in Baldwinsville, New York.
You never know when the snow will be flying or when we will have enough of it, so we are going ahead and planning a WWomen TIES' Women's Athletic Network Cross Country Ski event for women entrepreneurs and women in business on Friday, February 3, 2023 at Beaver Lake Nature Center in Baldwinsville, New York.
If you have your own Cross Country Skis bring them along with your proper clothing and networking attitude. Who said sales couldn't be "cool" outside? Meet Tracy and others in the building and set out for the 3-mile lake loop.
Then finish off the event with networking inside where Tracy will buy you some coffee, hot chocolate, Gatorade, water and a few snacks.
The price includes the networking sales list, experience, and beverages/snacks. Plus your parking fee. Just bring your ticket inside to Tracy when you arrive.
Notice: Beaver Lake Nature Center does not rent skis at this location.
Come on! Join the Women's Athletic Network for this "cool" outside sales and athletic event to kick-off 2023.
SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIY: We are looking for a sponsor for this event so if you are into skiing and want a very personal experience marketing your company to other women, contact Women TIES for details. The sponsorship also includes pre-event marketing on social media and on the Women TIES Marketing platforms.
About the Presenter
An athlete and business woman at heart, Tracy kicks off 2023 with a sports event that other women can join her in, even though she has been skiing since she was five years old.
The offspring of two P.E. Teachers and Coaches, Tracy learned to ski early downhill and across the land. She wants to take other women with her on this snowy adventure as well as other sporting events throughout the year.
The Women TIES Monthly Member-Only Meeting for February will be held on February 2nd at Noon for one hour. Join fellow members and promote your business for 5 minutes, sharing new events or projects, services or products. It's your time to pitch away.
Every month we have a Mastermind Question we all answer and discuss after introductions. The question of the month is how to warm up sales options when it is so cold outside and sometimes on the phone now? Do you use social media for sale? Do you cold call clients? Do you hate conducting sales? Let's talk and warm up to the idea of needing to do sales every day of the year.
See you on February 2nd!
About the Presenter
A 30-year advocate, promoter, and marketer of women owned businesses in and around New York State. She believes strongly in the buying and selling power of women and supports women in business, sports, equality and life issues.
Let's admit it as women entrepreneurs we don't always know which of the social media marketing platforms are the best to use today and for 2023, although LinkedIn's name comes up frequently. If you are like other non-marketing focused female business owners, you are busy enough keeping up your Facebook pages, wondering what is happening with Twitter, and still not using TikTok even though it is popular.
To help you out a bit at the beginning of this New Year, Women TIES is offering "Falling Back in Love with LinkedIn" to hear the latest reasons why LinkedIn is really a great platform to use as an entrepreneur. Speaker Michelle Arbore, Founder of Savvy Social Media, will give us an overview of why we should use LinkedIn, some of its latest features and benefits, and differences with other media we still might be using. This is only a 30-minute program so Michelle won't cover technical applications, but rather an overview of why we should be using it more often in today's marketing world.
10:00 a.m. - 10:20 a.m. - Registration, Coffee and Networking
Since it is Valentine's Day, bring one of your BFFs in business with you and enjoy the morning together.

A 3-decade promoter of women in business and a 10-year connector of women interested in sports and fitness. She believes in the buying and selling power of women along with the ability of women to unite to support women in sports.
Calling Women: Tracy Chamberlain Higginbotham Presents - Trying Every Sport Once in Your Lifetime Invitation
Tracy Chamberlain Higginbotham, Founder and President of Women TIES, LLC and the Women's Athletic Network, who lost all her hair to alopecia in 2018, has come out of the experience realizing she is most comfortable without wearing a wig and participating in sports, fitness or outdoor activities daily. Her new lifetime goal is to try every sport - regular and hopefully adventure - once in her lifetime. She will be documenting her attempts via social media especially on her TikTok account @tracychigginbotham.
As the year progresses, Tracy will post the sports she is attempting and invite any woman to join her at it. Most will be a one day experience most likely without training. There will be promotion of the women who join her and their companies so her love for marketing women entrepreneurs continues in a different way.
Out of the 124 "regular" sports, Tracy has done 55 of them with 69 more to try including ones like motorcross, curling, archery, parasailing, surfing, and more.
When it comes to "adventure" sports, there are 39 with Tracy only doing 4 so she has 35 more to go. Some of the "fun" ones include mountain biking, unicycle, kite surfing, bullriding, and more. She is keeping ski diving to last just in case! Any ones who has participated in a adventure sport who wants to take Tracy back out with them, should reach out to her!
Let's make 2022 and onward, an undaunted way of living life through sports especially since we are women and women entrepreneurs who are undaunted by adventure.
Make a "reservation" (without payment) including your name, business names, phone, email, etc. and in the comment section a sport you want to try or take Tracy out to do and she'll get you booked in her schedule.
SHE CAN'T WAIT to experience this with other women and document it to inspire other women to keep living an undaunted life of thrills, sports, and the outdoors.
About the Presenter
Born and raised by parents who were coaches and physical education teachers, Tracy started her young life at the age of 5 downhill skiing, swimming, ballet, and fishing. She moved on to swimming on with boys on the Jr. Swim Team because there wasn't a budget for girls swimming that year. Her and her 3 teammates had a few records.
In 1996, Tracy took up running to lose weight after her second son was born. She ran 2 miles every day for 15 years; and after meeting Kathrine Switzer, Founder of 261Fearless.org, trained for the 2017 Boston Marathon which she completed with great joy. Ever since the experience, it has made Tracy want to do more athletic feats and goals.
In 2013, Tracy created the Women's Athletic Network, to bring women entrepreneurs together to participate in sporting events, fitness, and cheering on female athletes for networking, exercise, and fun. The WAN has created opportunities for women to white water raft, zip line, kayak, try a high ropes course, and run in a few 5Ks. She also promotes and supports girls in sports.
Tracy believes strongly in supporting women in business, sports, equality and life.
