Event Update from Women TIES: This wonderful March for Our Lives is still occurring on March 24th but Tracy Higginbotham will not be participating in it since we have a family member in hospice and will have to return to the Albany area to be with her and the rest of our family. I still invite you to participate in the parade and contacting VOW (Voices of Women CNY) on information about where they are meeting and marching. VOW is a fantastic Syracuse organization. You can find their Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/180270839125173/. Thank you for your understanding with this recent change. Enjoy the March.
On March 24, 2018 local Syracuse students will march to demand that lives of children become a priority and to end gun violence once and for all.
They have created a "Go Fund" page and hope to raise $500 for expenses such as buses and materials. If you are interested in supporting them please go to: https://www.gofundme.com/funds-for-march-for-our-lives-cuse.
Their page states this:
"Thank you for your questions! The student organization planning the march is responsible for spending donations. All money will be placed into a safe account. We encourage everyone to make their own signs, but funds will be used to pay for security for the march as well water and fruit for the marchers. In order to make the march as inclusive as possible we also are planning to hire an ASL interpreter as well as other accommodations for those who need it. If any there are any other necessary expenses, those funds will be used for those as well. Any remaining funds not used for the march will be donated to organizations that work to end gun violence in this country as well as help victims of it."

UPDATE: Thank you to VOW (Voices of Women) for allowing Women TIES marchers to join them on 3/24 at the start of the march and throughout it. Make sure you wear red if you have it! Here are the logistics if you plan on attending with us:
The march on March 24, organized by students, starts at noon. Our group will be hosting a voter registration table at Federal Plaza, captained by Debbie Markert and staffed by VOW volunteers. The start of the march is at Everson plaza and I am recommending that our group congregate in front of the Oncenter at 11:15. Laura Hurley is the march captain and will have our signs and some identifying paraphernalia. We are asking that marchers wear red, in honor of those whose blood has been shed. You can IM either Laura or Debbie or post questions that others may have, as well. I hope for a great turnout and that VOW will be well represented!
They may also need some help registering young people to vote. If you can volunteer to do that, let me know and I'll let VOW know.
This event was originally booked for February before it needing to be rescheduled to March 28th due to a family emergency of Women TIES President Tracy Chamberlain Higginbotham. We hope you can join us at this new date!
This two hour social media marketing conversation will inspire you to start a blog for your business or personal use, inspiration behind having and writing one and how to use social media like Twitter and Facebook to share your blog posts to gain a larger audience.
The program will be led by Women TIES founder Tracy Chamberlain Higginbotham who has grown her blog following to over 3,000 followers, has had "likes" and retweets from the Katie Couric, Billie Jean King, Marianne Williamson and more, and simply wants to encourage more women to use their "voice" to share their business and personal perspectives.
Tracy will cover the inspiration behind why she has blogged since 2008, how Twitter has helped her share her work and landed her major media attention like an ESPNW video appearance and more. This will be a conversational and sharing discussion with questions/answers to truly inspire women to blog and tweet more often.
The event runs 10 a.m. - Noon and costs $29 and includes coffee/tea, fruit and snacks, speakers and networking.

Tracy Chamberlain Higginbotham is the Founder and President of Women TIES (Women Together Inspiring Entrepreneurial Success) a company specializing in promoting, publicizing and uniting women entrepreneurs and their companies online and in person in order to cultivate strong economic relationships to advance their companies and eradicate pay inequality. Tracy believes strongly in the buying and selling power of women.
Women TIES is launching its new Pink Glasses Mission to help inspire women to "See Pink. Buy Pink. Live Pink." We feel the pink glasses will help women look for and fix inequality facing women on a more regularly basis if they own a pair or wear a pair of our pink glasses.
What does "See Pink. Buy Pink. Live Pink." mean?
See Pink - Look for women's inequality in life and try to do something immediate about it.
Buy Pink - Buy from women first and foremost to help eradicate pay inequality.
Live Pink - Support women and girls programs and issues to help lift up women today and the generation of women to follow.
Women TIES Directory showcases women entrepreneurs or women in business who you can buy from or hire. Decide in 2018 to put your money in the hands, bank accounts or pocketbooks of women first and foremost to help eradicating pay inequality. Women will never earn as much as men if women don't start buying from them deliberately and often! This is what we call "Living the Women TIES Mission".
Fill out the "event registration" form with your address information and the pink glasses you order will be shipped to you within 7 days. The glasses do not have a prescription. They fit all sizes. They have womenties.com on the side arm. The cost includes the glasses and shipping in the USA.
